Third Term Classes
Ma1C - Multivariable Calculus : Fell asleep in class while the prof was going over straightforward basics, so i’m not sure how this class will be. At least he seemed enthusiastic!
Ph1C Practical -Classical Mechanics and Electromagnetism : I love E&M, but I liked my recitation TA from last term much better. Frautschi goes through problems rather than concepts, which is very sleep inducing.
Ge001 - Earth and Environment : This looks like it’s going to be lots of fun! There’s even a trip to the Grand Canyon! Unfortunately, this will be my first (and hopefully last) experience with clickers. At any rate, if I get 45/50 questions right I get full credit on the final! What a bonus.
EE005 - Introduction to Embedded Systems : WOOOO projects! And coding! And logic! And new architectures!
Bi001x - The Great Ideas of Biology : Lab based bio class, promises to be a lot of fun! Lots of hands on experiments rather than dry problem sets. I already spent an hour chasing microbes around with a high tech microscope hooked up to a PC and yelling excitedly as I captured photos.
HPS/Pl120 - Philosophy of Science : Dropping this in favour of Hum003C (Modern European) for benefits including dedication of class sessions to movies, less hugepapers, and less required participatory effort. Yaaaaay! I’ll just have to satisfy the advanced hums requirement later.
EE150 - Mechatronics : Hell yeah. Mechatronics.
I’m now at 57 units… I was planning on taking 51 but mechatronics just sounded too good to pass up. 52 and up is an overload, and I only took 46 last term, so we’ll see how this pans out!
